Export structural data

In order to make structures of the territory organization accessible to other applications or projects, there are various ways of preparing and exporting this data in EasyMap. Depending on requirements, tables of individual levels or the entire structure can be exported.

Export structural data to Excel or CSV

Via the menu File > Export > Data you can export all internal and external data tables to Excel or CSV. Several tables can be exported in a single export operation. This is especially useful if you want to export all data required for the complete documentation of a territory structure developed with EasyMap, e.g:

  • Basic data of the territories (numbers, names, etc.) in all levels of the hierarchy
  • Basic data of the locations (numbers, names, etc.) in all levels of the hierarchy
  • All assignment tables
  • Work tables (e.g. with aggregated customer data per territory)
  • Query and analysis results

Create special tables

In addition to the structure and basic data of the area organization, there are other tables that provide information about the structure and can also be useful for other applications. You create these tables for the first time in the control window of the Territory organization, via the context menu of an territory level and there in the submenu tables.

Complete assignment table

You can use this function to create a complete reference table for all levels. The Complete Allocation Table is always created from the selected layer, so that a table can be created from the selected layer to all superordinate layers.

  • Click in the control window territory organization with the right mouse button on the basic block level or a level of the territory structure. In the context menu, select Tables and then Create full mapping table.

Note: Since the Complete Assignment Table is a query, you only need to create this table once, because if you make structural changes, this table is updated on the fly.

Area assignments using intervals

The data structure of the assignment tables offers EasyMap maximum flexibility, but is very confusing to read. Therefore, EasyMap also offers a compact table view as allocation intervals. For example, if a number of consecutive postal codes are assigned to the same sales area, only the first and last postal codes appear in the table (e.g. "Cologne area: postal code 50123 - 51778").

  • The table of assignment intervals can be found in the control window Territory organization via the context menu of a level of the existing territory structure, in the submenu Tables > Assignment intervals.
  • There are several ways to display the intervals in the table: Interval in one field, from/to in separate fields or summarize the assignment intervals per territory.
This button is used to copy the table of assignment intervals and then paste it into Word or Excel, for example.

Note: Assignment intervals can be created for each level of a territory structure and always contain the assignment to the next level. So if you need an assignment interval from the brick level to the coarsest structure, simply create a territory structure with the Complete assignment table, which contains exactly these two levels and then create the assignment intervals via this territory structure.

Export territory structure as base map

If you want to ensure that the territory structure entered or planned with EasyMap can no longer be changed (e.g. the status quo for archiving), you can export the territory structure as a base map. Use the command Structure > Export in the context menu of the control window Territory organization.

EasyMap exports the territory structure in *.refx2 file format. The exported territory structures appear like all other digital maps in the control window base maps, namely in the group AutoMap creates territory structures, if nothing else was specified during the export (see below).
