Data Concept

Differentiation between external and internal created data tables

EasyMap distinguishes between external and internal data. External data is the data you have linked or imported in EasyMap from Excel, databases or other data sources. For the internal data tables generated by EasyMap during processing, EasyMap distinguishes between Geographic data, Analysis results and Structural data.

When Data-Import EasyMap creates a copy of the data. The administration of this copy takes place directly in EasyMap. There is no connection to the original data source. However, if you link your data link, changes in the source file are automatically taken over by EasyMap. If you want to delete, add or edit data, you must make the changes to the data source yourself.

For external data, EasyMap offers data management in the control window Data via the context menu of a table.

Good data preparation is the be-all and end-all

A good preparation of the data is crucial for the success of the map. The following notes and tips are intended to help you optimize your own data for use in EasyMap.
